Physical violence

Physical violence is anyintentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment, or deprivation (WHO definition). Corporal punishment of children is still found acceptable in many families, especially for mayor offenses. The pain and attack the child experiences by the very people whom he loves and trusts create confusion in his emotions, especially if it is explained out that the pain is in his own best interest and is a sign of his caretaker’s love. He may have consequences like low self-esteem, low self-respect and codependency later in life.
